A Red-hot day greeted me waking up but was still looking forward to getting out on the bank at a fishery Called Firtree up near Chorley in Lancashire. The short session was all about fishing the margin line but only using Corn and one of my favourite feeds Liquidised Corn, a fantastic combination and can be deadly on its day and with it being cheap it is a no brainer this time of the year giving you the chance to catch big weights of Carp or F1s, and in the liquid Corn I used Spotted Fin GO2 Classic Corn Bait Sauce to give it a massive boost to help out on the day, as with all fishing just making slight changes to your bait, Rigs, ect on the day can make all the difference between loosing and winning a match too.

I arrived at the lake with no pegs taken so I jumped on the first peg which has a lovely margin to the right and running about 20 meters to a bridge which gave me plenty of options in the short session I had planned, but I just decided on a couple of topkits with 0.4g Float to 0.19 mainline to 0.17 4-inch hook length using a 14s hook on both kits just in case of any breakages and a 14-16 Elastic set slack as there are plenty of Carp but nothing massive. Getting the bait sorted was easy going, 2 Large tins of corn (any brand will do) and I had liquidized 2 bags of frozen Corn the night before giving me around 4 pins of liquid gold. I decanted around 2 pints into a bait tub then added a liberal amount of Classic Corn Bait Sauce over the top which has a sweet roasted corn smell and of course the now famous Classic Corn aroma so many anglers have been turning to. It helps as well that these bait sauces are given added and proven attractors to provide that little extra help. We all know corn is a great bait in itself but having something that makes you stand out from the others always helps in a match. It gives the liquidised corn a consistency of a thick sauce which gives a slight bind and really helps the mix and its application as well as confining it to a smaller and heavier cloud in the water. Using this liquid corn for margins also has a low food content, so you can add plenty if needed.

Keeping things very easy I attached 2 large kinder pots to my topkits which I was going to fill after each fish caught or a missed bite, and plumbing up at 7 meters down the edge I had 2 ft, and I was off and running. Topping my kinder pot up I added 2 pieces of corn on top of the liquid corn and shipped out, a nice big kernel of corn on the hook, then tipping the liquid corn over the top which created a lovely cloud going through the water I waited 30 seconds before a palm sized Mirror Carp took the bait, repeating the process of topping the kinder pot up and adding an extra piece of Corn I had a bigger stamp of Carp on my next put in a Ghosty of around 3lb. For the next three hours the swim was alive with carp up to 4lb each put in resulting in either a bite or a fish, finishing off the short session I weighed my net at 42lb with all the Carp caught on Corn it was a very enjoyable few hours on the bank and by using Classic Corn Bait Sauce in my liquidised corn I felt it gave me the edge of just plain liquid Corn, give it a blast next time you are out on the bank.
